Why Yoga?

Yoga isn’t just about movements but rather a form of exercise that also engages the mind and breath, combining them. The benefits aren’t only physical but also helps to quiet the mind.

improved overall health

Most exercise and movements increase the quality of our overall health. Yoga is no exception.

It will help us gain flexibility, strengthen tight muscles and increase our balance. Studies have also showed that yoga can help lowering both heart rate and high blood pressure.

stress and anxiety reduction

Yoga can help reduce anxiety connected to various life situations such as stress and depressive symptoms.

It also allows us to let go of the ego. Where other forms of exercise are result driven and focus on accomplishment, yoga invites us to turn inwards and accept things as they are.

increased focus

A regular yoga practice helps our concentration. It makes us relax the mind so we can think more clearly.

It has been proven that a meditative state of mind, which is included in yoga, makes us better at identifying what we should do and act in that direction.

better sleep

Yoga is about finding balance – between activity and rest and can help us wind down by the end of the day.

When engaging in a practice late in the evening make sure to look for classes focusing especially on sleep.
