Erica
Hjertqvist

Erica’s style of yoga is minimalistic and down-to-earth. Her classes offer a space of calm, giving her students time to get into positions, find their breath and turn inwards. To reflect on their own internal journey.

‘‘The world needs this brand of yoga. Which is softness and allowing ourselves to be exactly where we are, and exactly who we are.

What I love about Erica is that there’s always just enough and nothing more. She has this gift for simplicity and minimalism that is so special.’’

lauren Rudick, lead teacher and founder of Yoga Academy International

Erica’s View on Yoga

Erica started her yoga journey back in 2012. To her, yoga is like a close friend. It will tell you the honest truth and show support when necessary. Yoga has been an additional support to her through emotional distress, heavy periods of anxiety and whilst recovering from a slipped disc.

It has given her a deeper connection to her body and mind, understanding its restraints and possibilities, an understanding she also brings into her teaching. She can not emphasise enough the importance of connecting body and mind, and letting go of the ego, in order for her students to commit to a safe practice.

Her style is soft but also assertive, and with a calming presence. Just like she is!’’

Perrine Marais, lead teacher and curriculum co-developer at Yoga Academy International
